What
Type of Data Can I Import Info Computer
Cuisine?
Every application
saves files in a particular file format. If you're
exchanging data with another application, check the
documentation that came with that program to determine
whether the file formats it supports work with Computer
Cuisine Deluxe.
Below is a list of some
of the supported file formats which can be imported into
Computer Cuisine Deluxe
In most cases, you
will want to choose Tab-Separated Text as your import
choice.
- BASIC (.BAS extension)
Import from and export to Microsoft BASIC
programs.
- ClarisWorks (.CWK or
.CWS extension) Import data from ClarisWorks 2.0 through
4.0 database files.
- Comma-Separated Text
(.CSV or .TXT extension) Import from and export to BASIC
programs and applications like dBASE. This format is also
called Comma-Separated Values (CSV).
- DBF (.DBF extension)
Import from and export to dBASEIII and
dBASEIV.
- DIF (.DIF extension)
Import from and export to spreadsheet applications such
as Excel.
- Edition File With
Computer Cuisine Deluxe for Mac OS, export or publish an
edition file, which users can subscribe to from any
application that supports Publish and Subscribe. When you
export the file, subscribers are automatically
updated.
- Excel (.XLS extension)
Import data from Microsoft Excel (Mac OS versions 4.0 and
5.0, Windows versions 4.0 through 7.0 as well as
Microsoft Excel for Office 97).
- FileMaker Pro (.FP3
extension) Import from FileMaker Pro 2.0 through 4.0, and
export to FileMaker Pro 3.0 or 4.0
- HTML Table (.HTM
extension) Export data as an HTML table for use on a Web
page. Rows are records and columns are
fields.
- Merge (.MER extension)
Import from and export to a text file that is used with a
word processor to create form letters. This format is
very similar to Comma-Separated Text, with the addition
of a header record that lists the field
names.
- SYLK (.SLK extension)
Import from and export to most spreadsheet
applications.
- Tab-Separated Text
(.TAB or .TXT extension) Import from and export to most
applications. If you aren't sure which format to use, try
this one first.
- WKS (.WK1 or .WKS
extension) Import from and export to Lotus 1-2-3 and
other spreadsheet applications. FileMaker Pro can import
.WKS and .WK1 files, but can only export .WK1
files.
